Hmm... I am not really sure what you meant by "because she couldn't do anything for him" You was saying that she went out with this guy once. Only once and the guy actually dumped her? It seems to me that such a guy isn't really worth her tears...

Well that's no definite tips to getting over a break up. But at such a time, care and concern from friends and family would certainly mean a lot to her. Howver apparently, it seems like the problem is more on with her parents not allowing her to started dating?

Whatever things may be, as a good friend, you can do your part. She will definitely need someone to talk to and confide in. Be that someone, that good friend who is willing to listen and to share her problems... this will at the very least provide her with some comfort making her feeling better...

my tips are dont tell him/her when around friends, family or employers...explain why you are breaking it off...tell them the honest to god truth..whether your cheating or if he/she is not good enough...dont wait...do it at the right time..
